NOIRE are Jessica Mincher and Billy James, following up their self-released EP Baby Blue in 2015, NOIRE have just announced the release of their debut album ‘Some Kind of Blue’, due September 29 via Spunk Records.

Growing up in the small regional town of Gympie, QLD before moving to Sydney where they formed in 2014, NOIRE craft dark, melodic and tenderly sculptured pop songs that traverse shoegaze, reverb heavy blues and indie rock.

Some Kind of Blue was produced by Wayne Connelly (Underground LoversYou Am I, The Vines). Citing inspiration from Air, Mazzy Star, David Lynch, Wim Wenders and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds‘Some Kind of Blue’ is a cinematic soundscape charting the fluidity of love and loneliness.

Having toured across the US in 2015 and playing alongside the likes of Cold War KidsSlum Sociable, Alex Lahey and Homeshake, NOIRE are known for their intoxicating, intimate live performances.

"What a dream." Zan Rowe, Triple j

‘Our favourite new Australian band of this year.’ – The Interns

"Dreamy, lush, well crafted indie pop... Mincher’s vocals float effortlessly into the ether over tenderly sculptured production" - Music Feeds (Music Feeds Faves)

"[A] haunting pop song from rising Sydney band, landing perfectly between hope and heartbreak" -Rolling Stone

"Ultra-melodic sounds and influences that display a great knack for musical texture and tone.... a lush and cinematic tune that hypnotises and takes the listener totally into their world" - The AU Review (Single of the Day)

"Jessica Mincher and Billy James do a great job at creating some French cool" - Noisey

"A rather brilliant ride... a confident nod to the humble side of Melody’s Echo and Beach House" - Speaker TV (Track of the Day)

Mincher’s voice is one that could easily slip into another decade, reaching from velvety depths to a higher breathy croon and is perfectly situated alongside the rich production of the track” – Purple Sneakers
